  • 1998-1/01 - The St. Joe Company (Panama City, FL)
  • Vice President Commercial Group – Spearheaded startup of regional commercial development activities across 1.1M acres (12 county region) owned by St. Joe in NW Florida. Responsibilities and work completed for starting and operating this profit center included:
  • Strategic planning & management for NW Florida for office, industrial, retail, multifamily, mixed use DRI’s & economic development
  • Organized and built West Florida commercial team for region
  • Land assessment of 1.1M acres, market analysis, demographics
  • Worked w/local and state governments to get gross infrastructure started (roads, water mains, sewer plants, etc)
  • Implemented land use amendments 1,200 acres for commercial development
  • Conceptualized, planned, started developing 3 office projects (240 ksf), 9 industrial parks (1,400 Ac), 6 retail projects (138 Ac), 2 Mixed Use (560 Ac)
  • Generated $8.5 Ebitda, 25% of Commercial Group Ebitda for 2 years running


  • 1991-1998 - Reynolds Metals Development Co. (Orlando, FL)
  • Directed the commercial development activities in Orlando and Jacksonville for this wholly owned subsidiary of Reynolds Metals Company. Responsible for developing $98M in projects including office, industrial, retail, and multi-family. Broad based duties in this generalist position included conception of projects, business planning, market analysis, demographics, land acquisition and sales, financing, permitting, construction, marketing, leasing, asset management and institutional asset sales. Substantial D.R. I. work included


  • 1990 – 1992 - M/I Schottenstein Homes, Inc (Orlando, FL)
  • Florida Land Division Project Manager – Implemented land development activities in the State of Florida for the nation’s 18th largest single-family homebuilder. Managed 7 ongoing projects (635 lots), started 3 new projects (255 lots), and developed to completion 2 projects (192 lots) costing $7.2 M. performed land acquisitions, financial and marketing analysis, due diligence, construction of utilities and infrastructure, and landscaping. Coordinated and contracted with municipalities, utilities, architects, engineers, bankers, attorneys, and construction trade.


  • 7/88 – 1990 – L. J. Hooker/Lamber Smith Hampton (Orlando, FL)
  • Multifamily Investment Broker in commercial real estate sales. Started a multifamily team concentrating on site selection, development deals, low-income tax credit housing, and existing apartment projects. Produced $45M of contracts primarily with national developers, institutional buyers, and financial institutions.

  • Intern – Assisted in implementation of management information system to enhance profit margins by tracking, pricing, and forecasting sales of turbine/generator parts.


  • 1981-1986 - Combustion Engineering - Impell (Atlanta, GA)
  • Senior Consultant Civil Engineer for nuclear power plant development, construction and retrofitting. Consulted to six major utilities on various projects across the United States. Activities included project design, management and construction of heavy industrial power plant facilities.

  • Worked for a soils and materials firm performing soils and concrete testing on numerous construction projects during two college summer breaks.
  • 1992 – Seminole county Task Force for revision of commercial development code.

  • 1999-2002 – Board of Directors/Coastal Operations Institute.
